Sr. AVD Engineer - Terraform Specialist

This is Contractual, onsite role for a Sr. AVD Engineer - Terraform Specialist based in Poland (Remote/Hybrid with occasional Gdansk office visits). This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) infrastructure and ensuring its optimal performance. We are seeking an experienced Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer with strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise, particularly in Terraform, to design, implement, and manage our enterprise-scale AVD environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in automating our virtual desktop infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and optimal performance. Key responsibilities include: AVD Architecture & Implementation Design, deploy, and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop environments at enterprise scale Implement AVD best practices for host pools, application groups, and workspaces Configure and optimize FSLogix profile containers and Office 365 containers Design and implement AVD networking, including Azure Virtual Networks, NSGs, and connectivity to on-premises environments Implement identity integration (Azure AD, AD DS) and security policies Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) Develop and maintain comprehensive Terraform modules for AVD infrastructure Implement Terraform-based automation for end-to-end AVD deployment Create reusable Terraform templates for host pool scaling, image management, and environment provisioning Automation & Optimization Implement monitoring and alerting solutions (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics) Optimize AVD performance and cost management Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies using Infrastructure as Code Security & Compliance Implement AVD security best practices and compliance standards Configure Conditional Access policies and Azure AD security features Implement security hardening for AVD session hosts Support & Documentation Create comprehensive documentation for AVD architecture and Terraform codebase Develop runbooks and operational procedures

Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate Experience with AVD scaling plans and automation Experience with multi-region AVD deployments Technical Skills - AVD Expertise Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop/WVD Deep understanding of AVD architecture components and services Experience with Azure AD and Active Directory integration Technical Skills - Terraform (Mandatory) Minimum 2 years of production experience with Terraform Proven experience developing complex Terraform modules for Azure Strong understanding of Terraform state management, workspaces, and backends Additional Requirements Experience with PowerShell and Azure CLI for automation Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) Understanding of Windows Server, Group Policy, and desktop optimization
